North Smithfield HS Jazz Ensemble
North Smithfield High School, North Smithfield, RI
Directed by Fritz Benz, the NSHS Jazz Ensemble is an extra-curricular activity and part of the award-winning N. Smithfield HS Music Program. NSHS Music involves nearly 300 students in a school of 520 performing in a variety of different music ensembles including 3 choirs, 2 concert bands and a guitar ensemble. The program was recognized as a “Grammy Signature School ” Finalist in 2013 by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. NSHS Jazz are winners of Division L5 Berklee Jazz Festival 2013 and 2014.
