Scott Winship

Marblehead High School, Marblehead, MA

Scott Winship teaches band at Marblehead Veterans Middle School and Marblehead High School as well as elective classes in beginning guitar, history of rock and roll, and hand drumming. Mr. Winship earned his Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Rhode Island College, and his Master of Music in Wind Band Conducting from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln (UNL). While at UNL Mr. Winship was a graduate teaching assistant for the 300 member Cornhusker marching band, Big Red Express pep band, Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band. Prior to earning his bachelor’s degree, Mr. Winship was a member of the prestigious United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps based at Marine Barracks, 8th & I, in Washington D.C. During his time with the Marine D&B, Mr. Winship traveled extensively throughout the United States and several foreign countries while performing for tens of thousands of people including various dignitaries, heads of state and celebrities. Mr. Winship auditioned for the group after aging out of the Boston Crusaders drum and bugle corps in 1990. In his free time Mr. Winship enjoys kayaking, mountain biking and playing golf.
